06 January 2026 | Animal Detention Centre, Jalan Tahana, Johor Bahru
Johor Bahru City Council (MBJB) received a visit from Iskandar Puteri City Council (MBIP), Lead by Puan Putri Nur Sarah Syahirah binti Sulaiman, an Architect from the MBIP Building Department, together with eight officers, to the MBJB Animal Detention Centre at Jalan Tahana.
The visiting delegation was welcomed by Dr. Muhammad Khairi bin Sulaiman, Senior Assistant Director of Health at MBJB, along with Encik Mohd Firdaus bin Mohamed, Senior Assistant Director of Engineering (Building Projects) at MBJB. The purpose of the visit was to view firsthand the design of the new animal detention centre currently under construction at Jalan Tahana.
The new MBJB Animal Detention Centre is expected to be completed in the first quarter of this year and will be used to house captured stray animals. The facility is also equipped with office space, a service counter, and a meeting room. Most importantly, the newly designed enclosures are cleaner, more spacious, and more comfortable compared to the existing facilities.
Sincere appreciation is extended to the MBIP delegation for taking the time to visit the MBJB Animal Detention Centre. It is hoped that this close cooperation and strong relationship will bring many benefits to both Johor Bahru City Council and Iskandar Puteri City Council.
